National Christian HomeSchool Championship OverviewThe National Christian HomeSchool Tournaments have continued to grow since 2000. This year we will have 5 Regional Basketball Tournaments, a basketball tip-off Tournament, and National Tournaments for 7 sports—Basketball, Volleyball, Fall Soccer, Spring Soccer, Golf, Cross Country, and Track & Field.
The organizational structure of the National Tournaments is as follows:
Executive Committee – The committee has two members —Rob Flatt, and Tim Flatt. This committee oversees all of the structural and financial decisions of Nationals, such as locations, dates, fees structure, special events (All-American Game), and the selection process for other committees.
Regional Committee – The members of this committee are people that are involved with running the National and Regional Tournaments. The main function of this committee is to interact with local programs concerning eligibility and to suggest eligibility changes. For the last 7 years, we have made eligibility rule changes and implemented them during the summer months.
Eligibility Advisory Board (EAB) – This board is being expanded this year. The members of the committee are made up of the coaches and athletic directors that attend the National Tournament. This year every team that had at least 4 teams attend Nationals has the right to appoint one of its coaches or AD on the board. If a program has 4 girls teams and 4 boys teams, it may appoint a member to represent each. The Executive Committee will offer 10 at large seats on the board. The EAB has two primary functions:
*An eligibility appeal is when a player or team is denied a hardship exemption from the Nationals Committee and wishes to file an appeal. All appeals are in writing and voting is done through e-mail.
