The National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championship was founded in 1991, the first tournament was played in March of 1992 in San Antonio, Texas.
During the first nine years Jim Leininger, Don Miller and Alan Day each running the tournament for 3 years in 2000 Tim Flatt was selected to run the tournament. In 2004 he was joined by his son Rob and in 2008 Kurt Talbott joined the Nationals team.
The National Basketball Tournament has been held in San Antonio, Sante Fe New Mexico, Estes Park Colorado, Oklahoma City and Sprignfield Missouri.
The National Basketball Tournament has been the largest HomeSchool sporting event for 19 consecutive years:
In 2002 the National Touraments began to expand, the following is the history of the National Tournaments now held in conjunction with the Fall and Spring Championships:
Track and Field Nationals - Started in 2002 hosted in Wichita, KS - Moved to Kansas City in 2003
Boys Soccer- Started in 2003 hosted in Wichita, Moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 2006 Omaha -- Moved to Kansas City in 2007
Cross Country Nationals- Started in 2007 hosted in Kansas City
Girls Socccer - Started in 2007 hosted in Kansas City
Volleyball - Started in 2009 in Springfield
Golf - Started in 2010 in Springfield
All National Tournaments were in Springfield, Missouri during the 2009-2010 school year.

Highlights from Basketball Nationals the last 3 Years
The 19th Annual National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championships were a tremendous success.
A record number 358 teams participated.
The Nationals Showcase was a smashing success with almost 7,000 fans packed Hammonds Student Center to watch the High School All-American Game, 3 Point Shooting Contest and Slam Dunk Contest.
18th Annual
The first year in Springfield, MO a new record with 344 teams. Springfield enjoyed the impact of around 10,000 players, coaches, and fans in town for the week. Springfield CVB recognized the tournament as the largest event in the city in 2009.
