Team USA Update
For Nationals March 12-17, 2017
Team USA Parents and Players,
This year looks like we will have a record turnout for Team USA. With so many new players this year we thought it would be helpful for us to give you some additional info on how Team USA works.
We want you to know that we have a spot for everyone who has registered. We will be able to accept new registrations until 12 noon on Saturday, March 11, 2017. After 12 noon on Saturday, we cannot guarantee available spots for players.
First of all: We do not begin formatting teams until Saturday morning, and we don’t release those teams until the Team USA Meetings.
Why do we wait until Saturday? We can’t build the Team USAs until we get the brackets finished and know how many Team USAs we need in each age division. The brackets aren’t finalized, as far as teams go, until midnight Friday night. As you can imagine with 340 teams there are many last-minute changes.
Team USA players should go through Player Check-In the same as all players.
Sunday March 12th — 3:00 PM-8:00 PM – Oasis Convention Center
Monday March 13th – 4:00 PM-8:00 PM – Hammons Fieldhouse at Missouri State
Team USA Meetings:
Team USA meetings are the night before your age group begins games.
The Team USA meetings are when the players find out which team they are on and coaches are assigned to teams.
Sunday March 12th – 9:00 PM at the Oasis Convention Center (Maui Room)
This meeting is for Boys 12u, Boys 14u, Boys 16u, Boys 18u and Girls 18u.
Your games will begin Monday.
* Please note that 16u players may also be used on 18u teams as well
Monday March 13th 5:00 PM at Hammons Student Center at Missouri State – North Gym (under bleachers)
This meeting is for Boys 10u, Girls 10u, Girls 12u, Girls 14u, and Girls 16u.
If You Volunteered to Coach:
We have your information on wanting to coach and those decisions are made when we create the teams.
Volunteer Coaches for Boys 12u, Boys 14u, Boys 16u, Boys 18u and Girls 18u: Attended the Coaches Meeting Sunday, 8pm at the Oasis Convention Center (Maui Room).
Volunteer Coaches for Boys 10u, Girls 10u, Girls 12u, Girls 14u, and Girls 16u:
Attend the Coaches Meeting Monday, 6:00 PM at Hammons Student Center at Missouri State – North Gym (under bleachers).
Team USA Jerseys
These are handed out after the Team USA Meetings. We have a reason and system for doing it this way. The jerseys are numbered and reversible (light side and dark side). They are the players to keep.
3 Point Shooting Tryouts and Contest
Team USA Players are welcome to participate.
Three Point Tryouts: 4:00-8:00 – at Baptist Bible College – All Ages – Cost is $5.00
Cutoff for sign up at the gym will be 6pm.
Our staff is now in lock down. This means we will NOT be able to answer any more emails about Team USA. We are completely focused on bracketing our 340 teams, filling in gym locations for about 1,000 games.

A Team USA is made up of eligible Home School players from around the country that do not have a full team to play on. This allows players to participate in an NCHBC Post Season Event who would not be able to without Team USA. Team USA was birthed at the 1st National Tournament and has now expanded into the Big South & Midwest Championships.
Many times 3-5 players from one team and a coach want to play at an NCHBC Post Season Event but they need to add 3-4 players to compete.
Team USA’s are not placed in top brackets when there is an option. (Team USA may not advance to a semifinal in a Gold Ball brackets at Nationals or the top bracket semi finals at the Big South or Midwest, if there is an option).
The fees are $90 at Nationals & $55 at the Big South or Midwest.
Player’s ages 16u and 18u may be combined if needed.
A Team USA Nationals Meeting will be held the evening before play begins – details to follow.
Coaches will be parents and you may request to coach when you son/daughter fills out a form.
Team assignments will not take place until you arrive at the Event.
A Team USA Player should only fill out the Player Registration form – if you are playing with a traditional Team in one age group and Team USA in another – only fill the form out once with your main team.
