WESTERN HomeSchool Basketball NCHBC Regional Championships

2019 Dates: February 28th, March 1st, & 2nd, 2019

2019 Facility (same as 2018): HomeSchool Basketball’s Western Regional Championships will be hosted at the nation’s largest indoor (242,000 SF / 25 hardwood basketball court) American Sports Centers (ASC) for the Thursday and Friday games, and Championship Saturday will be at Hope International University (NAIA Division 1)!

American Sports Centers is located at 1500 S. Anaheim Blvd, Anaheim, CA 92805

Hope International University is located at 2500 E. Nutwood Ave, Fullerton, CA 92831

Teams are projected to be in attendance at the 2019 Western HomeSchool Basketball Championships! We hope to draw teams from California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon.

We are so excited to have you come to Orange County to this “Destination Tournament” so that you can experience more than just basketball! We have designed this tournament to end before 6 PM on Thursday and Friday so that you can have the opportunity to explore the amazing sights and sounds of The OC (don’t believe ANYTHING you see on TV!). The main Thursday and Friday venue (ASC) is literally right across the freeway from Disneyland. The amazing Orange County beach communities (Huntington, Newport, Laguna, San Clemente, etc) are a short drive away as are the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles and Hollywood. And all this under the warm, sunny skies of Southern California!

Admission – There will be admission fees for adults and students (not for players and coaches)

Tournament Pass (all 3 days)

$10 Per person ages 6+

5 & Under – Free

Attendees MUST keep their wristbands on or they will be charged again.

Brackets: NCHBC Post Season Brackets are released 5-7 days before the tournament start date.

Seeding: All Coaches will have an opportunity to fill out a seeding form and share input during the multi-step seeding process.

Award Nomination: All Coaches will have an opportunity to make NCHBC end of the year award nominations.

NCHBC Western Cancellation Policy/Notice: Any team that cancels by February 8th will receive a credit for any payments made, the credit will be good for any 2019 event. However any late cancelations (after February 8th) will forfeit any payments made and if they have not yet paid they will receive an invoice. Late cancellations are treated the same as if the team attended the event. We have no desire to make a team pay for an event they didn’t attend, however we need proper notice for brackets, referee’s, gyms, trophies, etc.

Equipment:

Boys 12-18 age divisions use a ‘regulation’ (29.5”) basketball. All others use a 28.5” basketball.

All age groups play on standard 10 foot goals.

Warm Up, Halftime, Mercy & OT Info:

6 Minute Warm-up

4 Minute Halftime

OT is 3 minutes for all age groups with one additional full time out

Mercy is defined as a 25+ point differential any time after the start of the 4th quarter. Any mercy situation results in a running clock until the point differential is less than 20.
