Get in the game! Team USA provides a unique opportunity for Homeschool Players to compete in premier NCHC Post-Season Events even if your full team isn’t attending, or you don’t have a team at all.

Who is Team USA for?
NCHC Team USA is designed for Homeschool Students who would like to play in an age group but do not have a complete team to play on. This is a perfect fit for:
- A Homeschool Player whose whole team is not attending the event.
- A Homeschool Student who does not have a team to play on at all.
- Dual Rostering* Players who qualify for more than one age group (e.g., a player “playing up” who wants more playing time).
- Note: JV Volleyball Players may not Dual Roster.
- We always advise checking with your current team coach for permission before signing up to dual roster.
How Team USA Works
- Teammate Request: If you requested to be on someone’s team, your request is guaranteed!
- Coach & Team Assignments: Assignments will be made when you arrive at the event and meet your team.
- Coaches: Coaches are typically parent volunteers. Team USA is explicitly designed as a fun, equal playing time opportunity (Rule #1), not a competitive experience. Tournament staff will remove any coach who does not adhere to this philosophy.
- Included: Your registration fee includes a souvenir T-Shirt/Jersey that you take home.
โ ๏ธ Very Important Competition Rule: Team USA
Team USA is a developmental, non-championship opportunity.
- Competition Restriction: Provisional teams cannot eliminate a team from the top bracket of the division in which they are placed, nor can they compete for or eliminate a team from award contention.
- Tournament Advancement:
- In elimination brackets, the opening game at an NCHC event will result in Team USA moving to the left/consolation side of the brackets, regardless of the final score.
- The only exception is during pool play, where Team USA will advance as the last-place finisher.
- Consolation Rounds/Awards: In events where trophies or awards are given in consolation rounds, Team USA will continue to move left in the brackets, regardless of the score, until there are no more awards to eliminate teams from.
If this very important competition rule is an issue, please do not sign up for Team USA.
